THE SCIENCE

Inulin (Chicory Root Extract)

Cichorium intybus — prebiotic fructan fibre

Specification

Highly soluble chicory-derived inulin, degree of polymerisation (DP) 10–60; food-grade prebiotic fibre.

The science

Prebiotic fibre not fully digested in the upper gastrointestinal tract; can be fermented by gut bacteria in the colon.

Why we chose it

Complements psyllium and fenugreek by adding a prebiotic fibre component to the META formulation.

META also contains 700 mg of Psyllium Husk 85% per serving, identical to the specification used in LUME, providing the primary soluble-fibre component.

HPMC (Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose) — a plant-derived capsule material. No gelatin.

EXCIPIENTS

Microcrystalline Cellulose (MCC) and Colloidal Silicon Dioxide — food-grade. No artificial colours or synthetic binders.
